Iboru Iboya Ibocheche
Over the last few years, I’ve been contacted by more and more North American babalawos who have not had the opportunity to fully learn or gain a strong foundation in Ifa. These requests became more accelerated when my book, “Babalawo,” was published. The most recent time I was contacted, when I asked Ifa about the situation, the oddun Ifa Ika Foguero came out. In this Ifa, Orula was telling me I should bring these babalawos into having a strong foundation in Ifa so they have the same practive, knowledge and understanding as do the babalawos who do not have language barriers, or have lost contact with their padrinos.
If you fall into one of these categories be able to make sure you have a strong foundation and to help you reach a point where you are able I will be able to make sure you have a strong foundation and can walk into any room and in any ceremony or oniche with confidence and to best fulfill our oaths to help humanity and the world.
As Ifa tells me this is part of destiny that I have been given, I am now accepting more ahijados (godchildren) who have found themselves in this position within certain rules of course
If you have a Oluwo Siguayu, stay with him and learn, This is the best way and I was with my Oluwo Pete Rivera Ordi Orgunda until he passed away and I am still with Padrino Miguel Perez after 26 years.
If your Padrino is ibae (passed away), or there already has been a split or contact has been lost then I can ask Ifa if I can accept you as a godchild.
I must reserve most of my teaching to be for godchildren, this mandate makes sense as I cannot ignore my own godchildren because I’m too busy teaching people outside of our ile.
Godchildren need to come to me for teaching, the bulk of learning to become a good or great babalawo takes place AFTER initiation, And Ifa says that Oluwos cannot chase people to teach them, this has oddun.
I will of course also have to ask Ifa for permission as I do for anyone who would enter our ile.
To avoid spams, I can’t give out my email online, but I can be contacted on the form bellow
or by message (although FB messages get a lot of spams and I don’t check them that often).
Thank you,
